How might we design a simple cleaning tool as a sculptural, emotional

resonant object that reflects Muuto’s commitment to

organic form, functionality, and everyday beauty?

How might we design a simple cleaning tool as a sculptural, emotional resonant object that reflects Muuto’s commitment to organic form, functionality, and everyday beauty?

01 Research

I began with an in-depth analysis of Muuto’s product line, identifying key traits: soft curves, sculptural presence, muted color palettes, and functional simplicity.

02 Ideation

During my inspiration research, I came across a Japanese bowl at the RISD Museum. Its simple form and curves that gave me a sense of hug caught my attention.

I applied this curve to a hand broom and dustpan set, designed to nest seamlessly and serve as a standalone piece, challenging the idea that cleaning tools should be hidden.
